OS 4.5 problems
Since upgrading to the 4.5 OS, I've noticed that my browser is not working very well. Most of the time, no matter what website I go to, the connections will time out.
Also, my Yahoo mail account will not receive emails since upgrading. Every other account I have will (and receives HTML emails beautifully) but this once will not. I have deleted it and re added it, resent service books, etc. Weird thing is, even after i delete the account and re add it, my old messages still show up, which says to me that the account is not being deleted.
Just wondering if anyone else is having these problems. Also, does anyone have the instructions for downgrading back to the old OS (Verizon)?.
You might try resending your service books and see if that resolves your browser issue.
As far as downgrading, simply delete the OS 4.5 off your PC using Add/Remove programs, download and install 4.2, run DM and it will prompt you to install the old OS.
Be sure to delete the vendor.xml file first after installation or DM will not recognize it.
Re registering the device fixed the browser problem, but I am still having the problem with my email. If I can get that fixed then I will not have to downgrade.
When you say you deleted the account, are you deleting from BIS and from BB?
Go to Options>Advanced options>Service Books and delete the service books for that yahoo account, there should be two.
Once you've done this, then log on to your BIS and re setup your Yahoo account.
Resend service books.
See if that helps.
Last resort, you could try a battery pull.
Sounds silly, however I had the same problem. I fixed it (this sounds crazy I know) by turning "location on" in the advanced options for GPS. Whenever that option is "911 only" my browser does the same. When "location on" is set it works beautifully. As far as e-mail, sorry no help.

Ok - lets recap....
You deleted the account on your BIS page, then you went into your OPTIONS - ADVANCED - Service Books and deleted the CICAL and CMIME service books for the yourname@yahoo Then rebooted your device. At this point you should no longer see the folder on your home screen for your yahoo account, is this correct?
Next you went back on line to your BIS page and added the account. Are you notified that you were successful? Resending the service books then produces a new Yahoo mail folder on your device, correct? And this NEW mail folder has old emails in it but never recieves any new emails? OR does your "catch all" messages folder have your old emails?

That is correct. I no longer see the icon, but when I delete it and re add it, it actually reappears in the same place on my BB in the 2nd slot, when normally when I add a new account it puts it somewhere in the middle (don't know if that means anything, I just thought it was weird).

Just re added the account after deleting all the messages in the Messages folder, and just noticed that it did NOT add it to the 2nd slot, it put it in the middle. Going to wait a few minutes to send a test email....
Are you picking up these emails any other way (like with outlook)?
Can you send using the account? (in the Compose screen)
WOW! Thanks GaryF for a new perspective on things! It finally works. What it took was deleting the Messages folder that keeps ALL messages. That finally reset everything and completely deleted the account so that when I added it again everything worked (FYI, no I could not send from the account or picking up the emails any other way, besides by logging into Yahoo online).
And thanks Lavagirl and profclean2000 for the advice on the internet issue, both worked well!
