I won a bet (became a non-smoker) that will allow me to pick one up. I'll be getting a 8900 very soon.

    Regular upgrade

I used the Orange Belgium upgrade . I first tried the Mobily (Saudi) but in 2 tries to install apparently the cab file was corrupt. I have been a member here since 07 and have had 4 berries so I'm not a newbie. I primarily read listen and learn. So...now to take pics of my 8800 and 8120 to put up for sale in the am. My oldest Daughter has my 8100.

FWIW, I am using Vista ultimate64 with DM4.7 and had NO issues.

    Congratulations on becoming a non-smoker!

Papag, I'm alos considering in updating my OS from .114 to .152. I have a few questions about .152. The reason why I'm considering is that my speaker volume for ringtones and notifications are not loud enough. I've heard that .152 is louder...

Congrats on your BB 8900. This is my second BB I came from the 8100 which I still enjoy but nothing beats the processor speed of BB 8900.

    1. Why the immediate update to .152?

    2. What benefits are there from .114 to .152?

    3. I heard that .152 doesn't allow the camera to flash is that true?

    4. Also heard the uTube doesn't work with 1.52. is that true?

I just do it after reading

I didn't see .174. Is that Beta? I've had some wonky experiences with beta software. I am a little hard of hearing (used to be a roadie) and I wanted the better volume.

    OK DLing .174

.152 has been ok for the last couple days, but finding duplicate ringtone entries and a memory leak. Seems that the general consensus is .174 is the one, so here goes....

So far .174 is running smooth.. Better battery life than .152 imo...
