Re: Old Pro needs Help Troubleshooting Curve/Calendar Problem

This just might be a problem based on DM 4.2 SP2. Cherri has just confirnmed the syncing with DM 4.2.1.8 does not cause this problem.

Warning appears to be related to DM 4.2.2 versions.

    If you haven't sync'ed your calendar to DM 4.2 SP2. DON'T

    Hope this helps.

Tymann, can you pass this info on to your RIM contact, or PM me the Ticket number and I'll do it.

    Thanks

Again new to all the BB lingo so please bear with. I just installed the 4.2.2 version from the CD that came with the BB. I know that SP2 is available, but what does the DM stand for? I haven't sync'd any calendar events yet due to the fact that I know it adds duplicate entries (or has the potential to).

    DM = Desktop Manager

im pretty sure you can still use the media manager and application loader to load games and media, just don't use the sync tool

I am also having the same exact problem, including the duplicate entrys. I hope we get a resolution soon. I was very close to taking the 8300 back to the store, but I love it to much. My 8700 is being kept up to date with calendar entries, just in case.

I just tried deleting the DM designed for the Curve (DM 4.2.2.12) and replacing it with DM 4.2 SP1 (4.2.1.8) and it didn't help. I'm still having the same problems (duplicate entries and handheld contacts don't show up in Outlook).

    Any other ideas?

I'm afraid that once it occurs downgrading DM to 4.1 won't correct the problem. Still researching/data collecting.

I'm guessing cherri, but I would think so. But I don't know if it's easy to do. And you would lose Roxio media Manager, I think. I'm going to a few things, that being one of them.

Re: Old Pro needs Help Troubleshooting Curve/Calendar Problem

    1. carrier = at&t
    2. handheld Version = 4.2.2.89
    3. PIM used = Outlook
    4. Problem seen (multiple calendar entries on repetitive sync) Yes & see below
    5. Calendar Database size = zero entries
When I first Synced w/ Outlook it doubled all my appointments. Now it shows all my appointments w/ no duplicates (I deleted them) but it has erased all appointments from my Outlook calendar and when I try to open an item on my handheld I get the message "Appointment deleted externally. Changes will be lost and the viewer closed." Very frustrating!

Re: Old Pro needs Help Troubleshooting Curve/Calendar Problem

Well, I admit there is some improvement. No doubling of events but that is the only thing. I have removed desktop managre (DM) 4.2 Sp2 and installed DM 4.2 Sp1 same results. Wiped handheld using JL_Cmder. And reinstalled OS.

Oh well, I'm going to spend some time on the BlackBerry Technical Support Center Website tomorrow.

4.2.2.10, sound right? That is the desktop manager version. I had trouble downloading the one with the Roxio, and since I use my Mac at home for all of my media, I didn't really need it....so I am using the Desktop manager version I was using with my Pearl.
