    Welcome to PinStack pnd4pnd.
Unless you make a lot of adds/changes in your calendar or contacts/address book, syncing extremely often isn't really necessary. I'm going to wait a while before I sync again and do a backup a little more often.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with your BlackBerry.

Re: Old Pro needs Help Troubleshooting Curve/Calendar Problem

pnd4pnd - i think the issue right now that you should be 'aware' of is that ANYTHING you add to the handheld and expect to be transferred to outlook will NOT happen (if you are using BIS). i synced to and everything was transferred. but i have not had the chance to add something with my bb and then sync to see if it actually transfers...my guess would that it will not

so tymann/richard - we should be expecting a fix pretty soon you think? this isn't a little bug...this is a VERY big bug.

Cherri, I have no idea how long it might be. I don't understand how something like. This could slip by FTQ and get released. I assume that unless all our European Curve users are on BES, those versions don't have this problem.

That's the easy part to answer. Since the sync module doesn't recognize any entries in the BB calendar it assumes that all the entries are new and therefore adds a duplicate. This occurs each time you sync. Creating one copy of each appointment for each sync.

    Hope this helps.

so is there a way to prevent the duplicates right now? i assume you could just shut off that part of the sync. is there an easier way?

The only way would be to uncheck the calendar in the configuration Sync page.

    Hope this helps.

I might reiterate that I have not had problems with duplicates upon sync. Also, if I add new calendar items to outlook then sync, all works well. For those that still want to use the calendar function, just add to outlook until a fix is found.

Here's what my local Cingular Rep says ....

RIM's response is that it is not an OS problem. If I hear more I will let you know.

This is a OS issue not a desk top issue. What is RIM saying?

It was a little over a week ago it is listed as desktop manager 4.2 service pack 2 on Blackberrys website.

    Melanie,

Just got this report from Matt this morning as well. Harry, can you take a look?

We need them all logs with the CSO and if you can provide remedy numbers that would be great.

My recommendation to Matt this morning was to ensure the customer is using Desktop Manager 4.2.2 which we've now released.

    Regards,

Re: Old Pro needs Help Troubleshooting Curve/Calendar Problem

Well, I really don't know waht to say, but I'm using DM 4.2 Sp2, which, when I go to Help/About gives a version of4.2.2.14. I'm getting one copy of each event for each sync. Additionally, DM shouldn't have anything to do with how the Curve displays Database size on the handheld. Someone is going to have to explain that to me.

    Hope this helps.
