I wonder if they fixed anything vs the other carriers .77 OS. I upgraded to .97 and seeing if the bugs have been worked out.

If anybody tries this os let me know if you have any media player issues.

This is all so confusing and a bit nervewracking. Why doesnt verizon do auto updates like they do with their other cells when you dial *228?

Pray for my Curve... i might be visiting Verizon tomorrow LOL!

P.S. and yes, this is my first BB... lol. I had NO idea what this thing could do and now i'm obsessed. Oh! I've had it for 3 days

just download it and then run it on you PC, open desktop manager and plug in your phone, and it should automatically tell you that you have an update ready. But first do a BACKUP! just in case. Then start the process ....it takes like 30 mins. After it is done you will see the hourglass for like 20 mins!!!!! DONT PANIC, cause its supposed to do that. Then it will reboot..... be careful!

Sorry to get off topic. *228 just updates the service detail and roaming lists. It has nothing to do with updating your phones firmware

    Instructions:
    Next Steps after successful download:
    1) Click on Save.
    ok i did this
    2) Close the BlackBerry Handheld Device software.
    the phone is off
    3) Double click on downloaded executable file.
    i did
    4) Click RUN on dialogue box.
    looking good so far!
    5) Choose Setup Language from the dialog box
    yes i speak english
    6) Install Shield will install all required modules on PC/laptop.
this is where i am at now when i posted this...
    7) Allow the BlackBerry Handheld Device software to restart at the end of the installation.
HUH? The phone is off... and i'm DL to PC so why do i just randomly turn it back on????
    8) Connect device via USB data cable to PC/laptop and device upgrade process will start.
Still stuck on #7... so i'll wait for a response b4 i touch anything!

Back up???? um..... and how do i do that?

edit: and thank you for helping a poor newbie out!
