As tempted as I am to order one (even though it lacks 3G) my recent experience as well as hundreds of unhappy posts on this forum reveal that it would be a risky decision at best. I think I would have better chances and more fun gambling the money away in Las Vegas....

Well think of it this way, you spend around $400 in a night at a casino (by accident) and good chance of leaving with nothing. You spend that money on a new berry and it will last you far longer and if worse comes to worse and its as troublesome as the initial version MAY be, you can always ebay/craigslist it and get most of your money back (if you keep it in good condition).

Comeon arch.. all the cool kids are doing it ;0)

Nice! They estimated it'd get here by Wednesday, but it was a pleasant surprise when I saw that it was scheduled for Monday. If I had ordered it a day or two earlier, I would have had it before the weekend.

Yeah, I was actually out of town, not expecting it at all. The tracking number wasn't even legit yet, but when I got back Friday afternoon, it was sitting in my office

While my post was mostly a joke. I am going to Vegas for fun, wait & see if the 8900 is any good & if so, perhaps I will still hang back awhile till it proves itself. You gotta remember Ranxoren you get all the good ones from Rogers. We get the scrap here in the USA.....

No wonder AT&T BlackBerrys are marginal....

I was hesitant to order one because I love my 8320, but so far I really like it. It is MUCH faster than the 8320. Everything loads so much faster than my 4.5 8320 did. The screen is much brighter and clearer than the 8320 and it looks great. Everyone has noticed it. I also think the volume is better too. I haven't noticed any of the battery drain problems that some other posters have talked about. I watched the Dark Knight on it the other day and it didn't seem to be any different than the 8320 battery usage. It's not like theStorm where it is a whole new feel and device. It seems to be pretty stable. I just don't like the SD card slot, but nothing a pair of needle nose pliers couldn't fix.

Peer pressure: Do it! (BlackNinja stole my favorite line!)

Why do you want to pre-order one? Just tell them you want one now! Keep trying.

I called the 800 number and was told the same thing. I called my local rep and he got it to me in two days. It's a matter of getting to the right person I guess.

Just finished unwrapping my new 8900. This phone is sweet! A big step up from my 8100. I've fooled around with my friends old curve and I'm pleased to say that RIM did a good job on the update. Ordered my phone on Friday from a nice T-Mobile rep after being denied once before, but I didn't give up and second times a charm!!
