That would be flippin sweet!!
a great travel tool
NOAA weather radio on bb? sure would love some help on this! thanks in advance!
A NOAA app showing maps would be awesome too, or at least something along the lines of google/bbmaps. Even better would be streaming support, and a NOAA app to go along with it!
What I did for the WX radio was find the link(s) to the area broadcasts that I am interested in Emailed them to my phone ( too lazy to type all that mess) them bookmark them. Click on them as needed.
The WX radio stream works fine on my 8320. example http://www.erh.noaa.gov/nwr/phi/PHLSAFNW5.mp3
As for maps and text forecasts The NWS mobile site, at lest in my area, kind of stink they have sat. maps and radar. http://mobile.srh.noaa.gov/port_mp_ns.php?select=1&CityName=Millburn&site=OKX &State=NJ&warnzone=NJZ005
What I use most is weatherundergroud good maps and a animated radar that is full screen an over all easy to read format.
All the links are from my bookmarks on my 8320 all work fine for me and are for the NYC Metro Area.
We spend about 1/4 - 1/3 of our life directly on the coast (literally a few feet above the water). I do have a traditional NOAA wx radio set up... but I would like redundancy. The major thing we worry about is a tsunami.
If you have push email for your BB set your self up here. http://www.emergencyemail.org/
I have been using it on my desktop for years, it is a great free service.
Ok...Ok...so much for my humor eh?
I think having access to NOAA on my BB would be great, even though I too have a dedicated weather radio. The more functionality I can sqeeze out of my BB the better. Especially since I always carry it.
Agree with tigers123sw about wunderground - I've used it in the US and in Europe. The US has live radar and the European version gives accurate forcasts.
