I didn't have any problem setting it up on my TMO 8800(BIS). Just used the Setup wizard on the phone.

Your Exchange server has to have Outlook Web Access (preferred), IMAP, or POP3 access enabled. And you set it up pretty much like any other mail account via your provider's BIS portal.

try setting it up as sickchilly suggested on your BIS account. Because my Exchange servers uses Self-Signed security certificates, that method wouldn't work for me (unless someone has a solution for that! I'd LOVE to get one). What I had to do was create a Rule in my WebMail account to forward ALL mail to my BB's email address.
It's not quite as good as BB Push mail, but it gives me almost instant email updates, which I can follow up with if needed.

i didnt think you can setup your BB to access email that is on exchange (at least not without having BES configured).

Sure you can... working just fine on BIS via OWA here. Full email sync (albeit sometimes slow from server to device). I can even respond to/accept meeting invites, but still have to sync calendar/tasks/contacts manually with my desktop (MacBook Pro via Missing Sync and Entourage). Works great, don't need no stinkin' overpriced BES!

Re: NO BES, how do you get your Exchange emails?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I had my Exchange with self-signed certificate working great. IIRC to get it working correctly I had to enter in my password incorrectly so that BIS would let me manually configure the account and the OWA site. It never gave me any trouble about the certificate.
I've since switched to BES though. You can't beat the price of BESX for a small company and it's in a whole different league.

Woohoo!! I finally got it to work. No more fowarding my exchange mail to gmail. I logged into my bis acct and manually configed my OWA acct and I'm now able to get my emails on my curve.

dashnu: use BlackBerry Desktop Manager, a USB cable, and a PC with Outlook on it (need MAPI).

Or if you don't have BES, you can always use BESX!
