should be the third line down

4.2.x.xxx that is your OS version

Just install the DM and the OS to your PC and then your can load apps

thanks reddog187, so if i wanted to change my OS then i would just download whichever one i wanted and install it on my PC? then DM should install it on the phone when i connect it right? any opinion on which OS is the best?

Yes and no on that first question. Yes you can load whatever OS you want that is compatible with your unit but if it is not designed for the carrier your unit was built for originally (despite that it is unlocked now) you will have to delete the vendor.xml file from the application folder for the OS you installed on your computer for the DM to allow it to install.

so, hypothetically, if i wanted to change my OS to singapore telecom, i would need to delete the vendor.xml file before i install the singapore telecom OS onto my pc? or do i delete it after i install the OS onto my pc but before i connect my phone (sorry if that sounds confusing)

You delete the vendor.xml file before loading it to your BB.

To clarify, install OS on your computer, then delete the vendor.xml file before connecting the BB to PC. Desktop manager should prompt you upgrade you BB OS once your BB is connected.

I personally have the Singapore Telecom OS on my 8310 and it works great.

    Happy Berrying!

i just installed the singapore telecom os in it shows the newer version. this is probably a stupid question: My phone still shows the AT&T logo when i reset the phone and it also still has the AT&T theme in it. is it supposed to be like that?

Yes, no matter what carrier OS you install the branding of the orginal carrier will always stay.

    Is your carrier with ATT?
If it is, that logo is never going to change no matter what OS you load.
