    New to the Curve!!

So I just ordered my Curve today from Amazon.com for only a penny! (awesome I know)! I was wondering what are some good apps I need to download when I get the Curve. I've never had a data plan with my 8700c but I will have one with my Curve so I'm new on what browser I should use, how to get AIM on there, maps & such. Any help I would appreciate. I do know that I need to unlock the hidden vendor themes once I get it b/c I saw some screenshots of them and they are awesome! Thanks for the help stackers!

As far as AIM goes, its not released for the Curve yet so Jivetalk may be the way to go. But you can download Y! and GTalk for it. Also try the Opera browser to compare it to the built-in browser. Some like it, some hate it. Congrats and welcome to the Curve Club.

    Re: New to the Curve!!

definately download google maps (www.google.com/gmm from your bb browser)
be careful about stand alone IM from carriers, as they most likely use txt and not data...if you have an unlimited text plan, then you should be ok.
jivetalk is your number one bet. its trial is 30 days i believe, but you will be hooked in no time. it is multi-client.

if you need any help unlocking the themes, lemme know

Follow the onscreen instructions and it should be a breeze to set up.

on your curve there will be an icon that says something like Setup Personal Email.. it will walk you through setting up your gmail on your BB Curve. Easy

Thanks for the info! Cherri what is google maps? Does it include GPS? If not where can I get a CHEAP GPS download or whatever so my phone can be used as a GPS device?

hey Amanda--curve is still to new--we are all waiting for new themes lol. I have JiveTalk--its great--works very well. The cool thing about the vendor themes is that it puts all the icons in different places so you can put new wallpapers on the phone and see them better. The Curve is awesome--you will love it. Best Blackberry ever made

Careful, Curve doesn't have built in GPS. You'll have to get a bluetooth receiver and use that with a mapping program.
