Nope. Where did you hear that? Maybe you should post a link or something because I checked and the OS you posted is not available.

You're absolutely right about it not being available for download.

But, if you read my post very carefully you'll see that it says web based upgrade.

This is an email sent to someone I know that's on Telus and has .160 on his 8330.

Telus did the exact same thing with .138.

It was available via web based upgrade for a couple weeks before it got released to the public.

Go to blackberry.com and look for device sofyware, you will see an option to upgrade online, conect the phone to the pc, and click to the "update" button.

Go here for the web updater. These updates are PIN and carrier specific and will only update to the latest OS available from your carrier.

You have to use Internet Explorer in order to do it though.

Here is a screenshot of the dial #4357* send screen.

I was incorrect about this, it's not an email he copied this from his About screen and posted it.

Yep. I tried, and it will not automatically do it. I have to wait until it becomes a public upgrade so I can download it directly and then do update.

If you want it bad enough there is a couple things you can try.

First, delete all of your service books then resend them and then try the upgrade.

Second, wipe with JL Cmder and while your BB is still plugged in run the web based upgrade.

If you try the wipe then make sure you run a backup and backup your third party apps.

I connected to my desktop manager and it said there was an update available. I'm now running 4.5.0.160 from telus BUT it deleted all my bb contacts as well as my address book.
