Hello Clement! Welcome to PinStack and sorry to hear about your issues!

It kind of sounds like when you connected to the Desktop Manager (which is what I assume you were doing when attempting to sync your device) it started the application loader to either upgrade or downgrade your device's OS. Did you disconnect it from the PC at this point?

Sounds like the first step would be a battery pull and go from there right RoGro?

That's always an option, but it sounds like the device was inadvertently wiped.

Clement, you said you have the 4.5 OS on your device, so you've downloaded that OS and upgraded in the past, correct?

Can you even get it to power up when connected to a charger?

Okay, so you have the OS on your PC, correct? And when you connect to the PC via the USB and launch Desktop Manager, does the DM recognize your device and show it as connected?

Wait, didn't you say that you were already running 4.5 on your Curve and you were merely trying to sync your device? If so, you've already installed the handheld software onto your PC and deleted the vendor.xml file, correct?

So were you syncing the device or trying to install a new OS onto it?

Just to be sure, on your PC, go to Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and make sure you see something like "BlackBerry Device Software 4.5" or something like that.
