    OH WOW HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

well as far as the phone goes (jumping back to the original post LOL)
i have the same problem with my pearl
to be honest you have to take it apart and look at it
but if you dont want to
insurance will work if you have airtime on the BB
if you dont have insurance and dont mind NOT updating your BB with a USB port possibly updating as much as possible through bluetooth you could always get the charging pod for your BB or just buy a new BB which is always fun but expensive

    link for the charging pod:
    http://blackberryshop.pinstack.com/p...y-Charging-Pod

ive read about someone doing such while waiting for the replacement to come and they said they were gunna return it but they loved it so much they kept it

if you dont know how the charger works it uses the two gold contact points on the back of the phone to charge it.
the battery door lock is between the two points
hope i could of been some help
    GOOD LUCK lol

Funny. I like the elaborate police report thing. Wonder what other items that need confession the author has perpetrated

I'm not a Lawyer but I'm pretty sure submitting a false police report could be considered purgery or worse.

Someone else reported this issue on another device and another poster who had done the replacement themselves advised against it unless you really know what you're doing with a soldering iron.

If you're like me (a bull in a china shop), I'd definitely want a professional to do the work. BB Repair Shop (www.bbrepairshop.com) charges 80 bucks including everything, and they turn it around in 24 hours, so that's actually a pretty good deal.
