This is what i was going to point out. The size permitted on the current 4.2.2 is maxed at 4GB, anything over that will cause conflicts. OS 4.3 will solve this and support up to 8GB. Eagerly waiting on OS 4.3 so i can upgrade my 4GB to 6 or 8GB. I seen some websites with 8GB as preorders.

Re: My 6GB card and how I got it to work

I bought a new 4gb sandisk card that appears to be a bad card. My 8310 says it is not formatted and the format keeps failing using the phone. I tried the panasonic formatter listed above but my pc at home and work will not recognize the card when I insert it into the reader and connect via usb.

Unless someone can think of something I am doing wrong I am assuming I will have to return and replace it and see if the card is defective. And yes, media card support/mass storage mode support/and auto enable are all on.

Open to suggestions though because lord knows I frequently screw things up.

    Mucho gracias!

Re: My 6GB card and how I got it to work

i just took my SanDisk 4gb and copied everything to it - then plugged it directly into the 8310 - no formatting etc...

works like a charm and all 3.6gb or whatever were available for usage

JSB...wish I could do that but I cannot get a pc or laptop to recognize my card to copy things too. Fairly certain I have a bad card and will need to swap it.

I haven't had any problems with my SanDisk 2GB microSD. I was actually pleasantly surprised - the curve is a quite capable music/media player.

My question is what brand is your 6GB card. I've heard that sometimes manufacturers can make a difference.

The memory card reader you are using probably does not support the Micro SD HDSC. Get a memory card reader that is HDSC compatible.

First off, Hi all I am a relative newbe to this but I try to read the post and I love your desire to help people like me. I hope this doesn't sound rude but do you think 3 4Gb cards will be better than 2 6Gb cards? I'm using an English 8300 might this cause any conflicts?

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I don't think you are going to get the 6g cards to work on your bb right now past 4g. So just wait til the OS can support 6g or get your 3 4g cards. But remember that the card slot is under the battery. Kinda annoying to have to switch cards.

    Thanks!
I just did a search to see if the SDHC would work in my new Curve. Your information will save me a lot of headache.
