Modify Dialing from Home Screen?
I'm a relative newbie to the BB scene. I have a 8310, and I really like accessing my address book, by simply pressing the letter associated with the person's name. So, if I want to call Steve, I'll click 's', and maybe then 't' and so on.
As I scroll over a name, the associated number(s) pop up as sub-fields of the name. But, there is ever so slight of a delay before the number(s) pop up. And so, when I'm scrolling around, I start jumping all over the place, and can't seem to get to the one I want without fumbling around.
Is there any way to set it so that those sub-field number(s) do NOT pop up?
Re: Modify Dialing from Home Screen?
I don't think you can do that. All phone numbers for a contact will be displayed. What you could do is store one number for Steve in separate contacts. That's a lot of trouble. After a while, you get used to how fast the BB responds, and you adjust your speed appropriately.
It it's someone you call often, you could assign a speed dial. Phone>Menu>View Speed Dial List. From there, you can select the menu button and add a new speed dial. You could make Steve "S", so when you push/hold the S on the keyboard, the phone will dial Steve's number.
