    Mini Opera Help!!

    Advertisement

    I have a new BB 8300 Curve and I am just as new to it, as it is new to me. Anyway, after getting frustrated with web surfing, I did my research and of course found MINI OPERA. Well it won't finalize on my BB. It keeps giving me an error while doing the final test and it tells me to go to miniopera.com/help or call my service provider and get some kind of settings. I have tried all I know even the battary pull trick and that doesn't work. Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance for your help.

    I would post your BlackBerry PIN (I see you have it in your profile) instead of phone number.

    I would start by uninstalling it, then do another battery pull and re-attempt the install. When it does the test, does it stop at the beginning or end of the test (not familiar with the finalize).

    Make sure you set your TCP setting in options on your BB too. Then run Opera Mini.

    Your apn settings need to be changed to your carrier. Anyone know how to make Opera the default browser instead of the BB browser?

    I have no idea how to make it default, but to compensate, I made the right side button direct to opera mini as opposed to the camera.

    You cannot make Opera mini the default browser. It will always invoke the native BB browser for downloads.

    The 4.3 OS will have a better browser but I think it will be a while until RIM gets to full html.

    I see all the other services but I have cellular one. Any ideas,they told me today that they have not approved it yet for the 8300. Is there a generic tcp setting by chance?

    Re: Mini Opera Help!!

    Try using:

    blackberry.net as the APN (user/pass blank)

    and

    Gateway = 172.23.1.252
    port = 9201

    and then power off/on or do a battery pull, that may work.

    that didn't work either. They told me at cellularone that they are not allowing the download until security testing is done. Oh well guess I will have to wait.

    Where do you enter port and gateway information? I saw the WAP but not this on my curve.
