    Messenger Client Help

    Today I purchased a BB and now I am currently trying to get the messenger clients (AIM, Windows Live) working correctly.

    As of right now when I try connecting to the messenger via my BB it gives me the message "Please visit www.blackberry.com/aim to activate your handheld for aim"

    and

    "Handheld does not have the required service books. Please visit Http://blackberry.com/livemessenger"

    When I go to either of these sites it tells me:

    "Downloads via a USB connection are not enabled for this product. Please visit our mobile download website at using the browser on your BlackBerry® smartphone."

    and the following link they give me does not work.

    From what I can tell I need to download some sort of service book, and I have tried various other RIM? (not sure what this is) downloads but they wont upload onto my desktop manager.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Do you have a data plan? You need one in order for them to work.

    I have unlimited texting, and they said that the messengers would be included on that.

    Not those versions that you are trying though. You are trying to install the versions that uses data instead of sms (text).

    I have the exact same issue and I do have the unlimited data plan
    Any solutions?
