    Message Problem

Ok, so here's the deal: My BlackBerry Curve 8310 is having problems with Messages (SMS, MMS, and Email. Just those three). When my phone receives an SMS, my phone will freeze for about a minute or two. And if I send an SMS, my phone will freeze for about a minute or two. It does the same thing with MMS message also.

However, if I send an Email, my phone doesn't freeze. It's pretty quick sending and receiving Email. It's the SMS and MMS I have trouble with. I don't know what is causing this.

Is there a way I can fix this? Or am I just stuck with this problem.

Well, that'll explain it. Once you get below 10mb or so, you're going to start having issues.

You'll need to delete unused apps, pictures, texts, e-mails, etc to free up some space and do a battery pull.

Well, I tried deleting unused messages and pictures, but it didn't fix the problem.

So how much memory did deleting that stuff free up? If you are below 10mb, you're going to have some problems.

Well, I managed to clear enough memory to get me 1774616 Bytes on my Device Memory.

Still not enough. Do you have an apps you don't use that you can get rid of? Not sure this is going to solve your particular problem, but it's probably contributing to it.

If you haven't already, you can also delete a couple of most likely unused applications that will clear about 5mb of space.....Help and TTY.

On the home screen, select Options>Advanced Options>Applications. Scroll to the Help or TTY app, press the BB menu button and select Delete. When you've deleted both, pull the battery on the device for about 10 seconds, then reinsert and see how much memory you've freed up.

Well, I cleared my whole inbox and deleted three apps to see if the SMS proble would be fixed. Turns out, it really was the Device Memory.
