    Message notification problems

I am using the Today Plus theme and have noticed that the message indicator still says I have (1 unread) message even though all my messages have been opened/deleted. Is this a current glitch?

Try switching back and forth between themes

Thanks. Switching back and forth between themes solved the problem.

I recommend downloading an app called Soft Reset vs battery pull.
    You can download it here:

per RIM too many battery pulls are actually harmful to the BB and are only a last resort.
This software is a safe alternate to that with the same results.

    Re: Message notification problems

Go into your messages and highlight the current date, hit the button to the left of the scroll ball (options I think), then select to <Mark Prior Opened>. That works for me about 80% of the time. I hate that this is a problem because I ONLY use Today themes.

If that doesn't work, definitely use Soft Rest as mentioned by Lava above.

    Re: Message notification problems

I notice that this happens when I don't open all my messages before deleting them. A lot of times you don't want to open messages, especially spam. Kind of a nuisance to have to either switch themes or do the soft reset.

Thats a good one Lava. Easier reset AND better for the BB overall health. Thanks.

Yep. I always use the above key combo as a soft reset. What is the difference between that and this soft reset app?

Ok, I wasn't sure if it did something "special" that made it more like a battery pull than the normal soft reset. I've noticed that sometimes the soft reset won't fix things that a hard reset will. There's not much point in installing it on the Curve then since this can already be done without it. It looks like it was made for the Pearl, which would make more sense if the key-combo soft reset isn't possible.

    Re: Message notification problems

Yeah I have notice the same proplem. It normally happened when I pulled the bb out of the case while the alert was still going off. Changeing themes works but I have found that shooting myself a text and opening that gets rid of it. It doesnt work any better than a soft reset but it is a little faster.
