1) i was trying to sync my bb to get some playlist i made off itunes, and when i connected it gave me a prompt to pick yes or no to mass media storage mode? I have no idea what this is? and i said no, and then the desktop manager to sync the playlists wasnt connecting to my phone why not? and what is mass media storage mode?
2) if i have to turn mass media storage mode on to get itunes synced how do i turn it off, because it says some options my not work in that mode.
Mass media mode enables the use of a micro sd card for storage of music, pics, etc...
You need to enable it to be able to load your playlist onto.
To enable go to options on your BB then memory and turn it on.

Reason: more info
do you turn it off the same way? under options
From what you describe, it is set to "prompt", which is the way I'd leave it. You really only need to enable it when you want to load stuff to/from the media card.
You do need to make sure the settings are as follows in Options>Media Card:
Media Card Support: On
Encryptio Mode: None
Mass Storage Mode Support: On
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected: Prompt
Now whenever you connect your device to the PC, you will be prompted to enable the ability to drag/drop media to and from your card.
I have never had any problems leaving it turned on all of the time!
Anyone else had a problem with the always on setting?

I've had so many BB's in my time and have always left that option to yes. If security is an issue. It is password protected, if you opt to secure password under security options you cannot access files unless you enter password even on your pc.
Are you guys talking about the auto-enable when connected?
I leave it at prompt because if you have it connected to the PC and have it enabled, you can't access files on the media card from the device itself.....for instance when I want to listen to music, mass storage mode cannot be enabled.

I always leave mass storage mode off.....that is until I decide to update my photos, videos, songs, change, edit, delete, etc. then.....I turn Mass Storage Mode on before connecting the PC to BB cable.....after that, I just treat it as another disk where I drag and drop my photos, mp3's, etc. using windows explorer. Immediately upon disconnecting the BB from my PC......I turn Mass Storage Mode off.

The Mass Storage Mode Support is always on, as indicated above, but I have it prompt me when I connect to the PC to turn it on.
