Question Like Alcatraz, you can't escape At&t?

I left AT&T for Tmobile, and took a curve 8300 with me(!).
My Tmo service is a fave 5 account and the main phone is a white pearl.

I would like to use the curve for Tmo, but I can't get rid of AT&T items on the curve (logo,PTT, etc.). I have attempted to install other vendors software, and even wiped the curve clean with java loader - after installing the 8300 software from Tmo UK, the phone rebooted and the At&T programs were back.

Is there something hardwired on the handheld that makes it impossible to get rid of At&t on the curve?

I wiped with Java loader to the extent that I received the 507 message. I then reinstalled a different vendor's OS and inserted my Tmo sim card (I have no other).

Still the At&t logo, and I had to hide PTT and one other application. *confused*

You will continue to get the att logo. You can't get rid of it, even if its unlocked.
There is a way to remove ptt by removing a file I think. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

the phone is branded to ATT, so the splash screen (the screen you see when you turn on the bb) will always be ATT regardless of what OS you put on it.

you can remove PTT by going here:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8310-v4.2.2.181_P2.5.0.35\Java

    and remove/delete this file: net_rim_bb_phone_ptt_app

    Thanks!
I knew there had to be something to that stubborn logo.
Nice to know I can delete PTT, will give it a try.

    Thank you again!

Oh awesome, I've been wanting to get rid of PTT for a while now. I got AT&T to unlock a Curve I bought on eBay (!) and now I have it on T-Mobile, but PTT always sits there minimized and won't close! Thanks for the tip on how to remove it.
