Are you sure you have "Attatchment Service" checked in the DM apploader? I had the same problem before, and that was the cause.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I wouldn't have noticed that. I haven't noticed any changes. Upgraded from .170.

Upgrade was smooth and painless for me, as usual.

    Went from v4.2.2.163 to v4.2.2.184

Generally speaking, when is it the right time to bother updating to the newest OS? I'm currently on 4.2.2.170 and have no complaints.

Are there any serious bug fixes to be found upgrading from 4.2.2.170 to 4.2.2.184? Not knowing any better I would have thought I would just wait until the next 'major' release of 4.2.3.?

If your BB is running stable then you can leave it alone if you want. I always upgrade to the latest OS as there are slight changes on each OS that RIM has worked on for various reasons. I don't notice much difference between this OS and the previous one, however I like to keep my BB as up to date as possible.
The next major OS release will be 4.5 which was previously supposed to be called 4.3.

Sorry for the late reply Gary as the thread was resolved, but regarding this, yes the calendar issue occurred with O2 - 4.2.2.108 the original OS that shipped when 8300's were first released. The issue was resolved by deleting the CICAL service books, but a patch also came out, however the patch started causing some issues for many Stackers, specifically app error 205. I took the plunge tonight and upgraded to this OS. I'm really glad that I did! Not only did the menu and main page navigation speed up, but now the GPS is blazing fast! Maybe mine was just really slow before, but now it's got my location within half a second! It ususally took from 30 seconds to a couple minutes to see me before. Anyone else get this?

I have found a difference between 4.2.2.184 and 4.2.2.181. If you use the vodafone white theme. e mail has been renamed messages.

I take it that there were no differences to report? I currently have 4.2.2.170 and holding out for 4.5, but who knows when that will be available for TMo.

Took the plunge and updated the OS. The restore crapped out on me after the complete wipe. Good thing there was a backup done before updating the OS. Whee! Good times.

One HUGE thing I noticed was the File Free size. I have approximately 22 megs free now. With 4.2.2.170, I was consistently getting around 17 megs free.

Ever since upgrading to this OS I've noticed an abnormal number of errors. Most common one is I can't get my calendar appointments to show on the today screen.

Also, the Calendar appointments seem to shift days randomly when I have reoccuring appointments.

    Wierd.
