Thumbs up Re: Lastest OS: BB 8320 4.2.2.184 (Chinese, Singapore Telecom)

I upgraded to this new OS and I think the BB is running a little faster. Could be the memory clear from the install, but it is noticable enough that I would recommend to all, just from a speed standpoint. No negative issues to report. All is running fine.

Forgot to mention that I religously purge, ALT LGLG, and battery pull every Monday morning, so I would think I could tell the difference in speed between a new OS and a garden variety battery pull and purge speed increase.

Re: Lastest OS: BB 8320 4.2.2.184 (Chinese, Singapore Telecom)

NuB here... but am I missing something? When I go to the link in the first post it takes me to Singapore Telecom BB downloads. But viewing there list the 8320 isn't there. Only the 8300 & 8310. I'm running 4.2.2.180 on a T-Mobile US BB 8320. My job provides me with T-Mobile service, but I use ATT for my personal number. I was hoping to unlock my BB and use it with my personal account. I currently use a data plain with ATT, but I can't get one through work. So right now my choices are...

A)unlock phone use with ATT (update OS in an effort to unbrand it)
    B)cell phone(lol), and buy an BB 8310
C)drop ATT and switch to T-Mobile

    Any suggestions?

Sorry if posted in the wrong thread!

    Fritzdoss,

Instead of doing a battery pull, try hard resetting your bb by simutaneously pushing "alt"+"right shift"+"del". That'll save you the trouble of constantly opening your bb & doing a battery pull.

The one thing I found that can be done now with the upgrade, is that you can make any website your homepage. With the 180 Os you couldn't change the homepage. Now you can with the 184. Just go in to the browsers options.

What kind of error are you getting when downloading? Updated software is always good. Having TMO doesn't matter as long as you follow these directions...http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...rade_your.html

Let me know the error, you may not need to update.

    viva,

You cannot install on operating system OTA.

You must download to your desktop, install on your desktop, and delete the vendor.alx file (if not from your carrier)
