Largest SD card that can be used?

What's the largest micro SD card that can be used in a Curve? Wanting to use my Wife's 8310 for a MP3 player, and I doubt the 2GB card that came with the unit will be enough.

Is there a limit to the size it will recognize?

    TIA

As long as you have OS 4.5.0.81 or higher you can use up to a 16gb SD card.

I have heard that that size card could slow your Curve down. Just wanted to give you a heads up..

I haven't noticed it slowing down with my 8gb but it could be totally different with a 16. Thanks for the heads up pdx.

A TMO rep told me that, but I have never tried a card that size before, so it may be fine..

Its only got OS 4.2, and I don't feel lucky enough to start changing that around. I believe we have it set up so the card is only a storage device, just for media.

A 4GB card (an 8GB would be better) would probably be fine for what we need, they aren't that expensive to try experimenting.

    Thanks for the info!

Check with Modern Cowboy, but I believe if you still have 4.2, then you can only go up to 2gb

The large cards will slow things down in Media Player when it is first loading the card content. This should only happend the first time. I have 8gb cards in my curves and they are fine. On the very first time opening the Media Player everything paused and acted erratic until it had indexed the whole card.

I like my 8gb card, and looking for the best price on the 16gb. Where is the best price you all found for a 16gb card?

i don't know if the curve has a radically different media player than the pearl does but i found that organizing music with the half-baked media player on the bb was a pain, iPod takes the cake on that front regardless!
