What am I doing wrong guys? I can send an email just fine from my BBerry. But when I send one from my desktop, it doesn't show in my "messages" folder.

Need to know if you're using Outlook and to what e-mail address you're sending from your desktop.

Using gmail on my desktop and BBerry. When I send an email from my BBerry it immediately pops up on my desktop, in the "inbox" from "me".

But, when I send one from my desktop (gmail address to gmail address), it doesn't show in my "messages" box on my bberry.

Hm. I think some people have mentioned some lag time with gmail, so it could still show up. It's obviously working in one direction and you got the confirmation email to your device, so I think it's all good.

yeah, seems to be ok. A little weird why it won't receive emails sent from me to me....i'd do that sometimes if I had to remember TV model numbers just recently when I was shopping. If anyone has gmail and knows what the heck is going on, please reply.

Thanks for your help guys, right on the money as usual.

Just sent a test mail from my gmail add to my berry and all seems good. Have you done a battery pull since you have resent the service books? My wifes berry locked up gettinh any data incoming. Then we did a battery pull and like magic all the emails showed up once she was back on line from the reset. Check in. Regards cHAd ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

i am confused, are you saying that when you send an email from your desktop gmail, to your gmail it does not show up in your BB?

Have you tried sending from a Different Email from your PC to your Gmail account....lets say you have a Yahoo.com account, can you send from the Yahoo to the gmail from your desktop and have it show up on your BB.

What i think is happening is your access the Gmail mail server before it gets pushed to your BB. Thats why it is not showing up on your phone.

Yeah, I receive other emails fine. But, if I were to sign on to gmail on my laptop, then send an email to that same gmail account, it'll show up in my inbox as a new email on my laptop, but won't on my Bberry.

Like I said, it's minor. But it used to do it on my 8300, but not 8310. If I had to guess, I'd say it has something to do with the filter I have set up.

Are you running straight from the Gmail app or do you use Outlook or another mail client?

    Silv,

If you have filtered your gmail account you will not get copies of sent emails if sent using your PC or the GMail application.

I'm not trying to get copies of sent emails though, that's the reason why I put the filter in place.

HOWEVER, if I send an email to myself, it SHOULD pop up as a new email received....you see what I'm saying?

I understand about the sent emails.....if my email address was johndoe@gmail.com. And I send an email from my Bberry account for johndoe@gmail.com, to johndoe@gmail.com, I should receive a "new e-mail" in my messages folder on my Bberry.

On another note, if I downloaded a new theme (Boldberry) and it's not in my "themes" section, where would it be?

I saved it, but can't find it!!

Not if you have a filter set up that says "do not forward emails from johndoe@gmail.com to the device"

Yes, but as Gary told you in the other thread, you have the filter set in Gmail to not send a copy of sent mails to your device, which is exactly what you're doing when you send FROM johndoe@gmail.com TO johndoe@gmail.com.
