I have researched this phone quite thoroughly and it promises to be everything that we already enjoy in the present model, and more. What is of particular interest to me is the upcoming 3G model, while a ways away, it will be well worth waiting for. Much like the 8300 to 8310 upgrade, this will begin with the 8900 w/EDGE and followed by the 8910 w/3G. A perfect combination for those of us who prefer that form factor, size, and (yes you guessed it) superb keyboard...

Since 3G is not something that you need, you are in a great position to get one of the 8900's quite soon. I'm very confident that you will really like this model, I must admit that I may forego 3G and get one of the 8900's myself. Then simply upgrade to the 89xx w/ 3G as that becomes available.

    Cheers!

tmobile emailed about that ugly flip phone pearl. I sent and email explaining I would much rather prefer the javelin.

Not sure if it will fall on deaf ears, but I tried.

LOL......I'm not interested in the flip either, but if that's the only new berry out on t-mobile, i may have to pick one up to hold me over.....T-mobile's Christmas lineup does not seem to include the Javelin, so it will definitely be for 2009.

I've never enjoyed my Curve 8310 more than now. And I really enjoyed it before. However, now that I've "upgraded" from a Bold to a Curve 8310 I could not be happier. Simpler is better, reliability wins & everyone benefits!

    Cheers,
sent via Curve 8310 the BlackBerry that just works ..

I wouldn't give up hope yet, as they may get it before Xmas. And if not, what a great way to start the new year!

Even if you do not get the response you are looking for, you made a very good move. Customer feedback does matter. If more people would do what you did, the carriers would all be more responsive to their customers. Nice work!

I am definitely going to get the 8900. I was this close to buying the Bold last week, and am very glad I went into the store to play with one for a while. The Bold is a GREAT device, but I've grown accustomed to the keyboard on my Curve 8310, and 3G isn't a dealbreaker or maker for me. The Bold is beautiful, fast, etc., but the 8900 is far better for someone like me who wants a smaller form factor and a processor that won't lag (which is my only complaint with my current 8310). Hell, if the 8310 came with a faster processor, I'd just stay with that!
