    Javelin / Curve 8900.... who's interested?

    Advertisement

    I for one am very interested in this latest model. Designed to replace the Curve, it's sleek, has terrific styling and everything I want (except 3G). Oh well, long ago I came to the conclusion there is no perfect phone and this ones as close as they come for me.

    BlackBerry 8900 “Javelin” Key Features:
    * Quad-band radios: GSM/GPRS/EDGE (no 3G)
    * Wi-Fi b/g with UMA + GPS in one
    * OS 4.6.1, featuring Safe Mode start up
    * 480 by 360 high-res HVGA+ display
    * 512 MHz Processor
    * 256 MB onboard flash memory (more room for apps)
    * Hot-swappable microSD slot - located under the battery door
    * 3.2MP camera, includes auto-focus
    * Glass cover - one piece glass cover will house the camera and flash, providing a very polished look and feel
    * Micro USB charging/syncing port, w/ high speed data
    * Dedicated Lock Button - will allow easy access to lock / hold the device when not using a holster
    * “Sweet Spot” narrow keypad
    * Battery Cover features a new easy to use, latch mechanism

    Weigh in with your take on this new BlackBerry!

    Cheers...

    I've wanted this since the first pics were leaked months and months ago. Just like HeavyC, I've got a full upgrade waiting for me in Nov.

    Does any one if this phone with have a full HTML web browser like the new Storm so that I don't have to download opera Mini? I would love to be able to surf reg HTML websites and have it display properly like it should. Currently i have the 8320 with OS 4.5 and every time i go to a reg website i get it to view like a colum, i have tried messing with all the settings but it never displays like a real webpage.....or am i WRONG? someone please correct me if I am....

    I would like the Bold, but at this rate I think I will have to settle for an Unlocked 8900

    def gonna be getting this one.

    F the Bold. Too big and that fugly leather backing, yuk. Higher res screen, better design, and better cam trumps the overrated 3G Bold. (my opinion of course). 3G is pretty overrated as well. I have had top N series devices and 3G was not that special.

    so +1 for the 8900. Not gonna be waiting for AT&T though, gonna be getting this one unbranded unlocked
