    Is this normal?...free memory

Ok, I checked my free memory, it was 23,844,072. Did a battery pull since I haven't done one in a while, free memory after pull 23,819,908. Um, it went down. So I powered off because sometimes it will go back up, nope down again to 23,818,504.

I know that is plenty of memory, just found it odd that it went down after the battery pull. I thought it usually went up because it freed up any memory that was cleared.

    Thanks!

BTW, how do some of ya'll have 26+? I have all preinstalled wallpapers and ringtones still on my phone (I use some tones), but I took off the PTT app. 3rd party apps are BBSmart, Yellowpages, MyCast Weather, Suduko, Hangman, Lingo, Disco Bowling. It is really not alot of apps.

Any chance that you had some pgm loaded and had opted NOT to reboot after you loaded it?

No, unless it was the Lingo, but I had loaded Disco Bowling after that via DM and it rebooted then.

I'd watch it from time to time but I wouldn't worry about it - mine fluctuates too.
I just rebooted mine. Before memory was 26,805,020 - after boot it was up 26,840,012. I suspect that memory fluctuates to some degree based on cleared cache, etc., and an increase/decrease in logs, emails, IM's etc.

I took out my preloaded stuff except the ringtones. I had 26+ but for some reason it went down to 23+. I will do a battary pull and see what happens.

Btw: when you say battary pull, leave the device on and just take out the battary right? Just checking, new to BB.

Yes, I left it on and took out the battery, then put it back in to reboot the device.

BTW, welcome to the addiction called Blackberry!

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~rebooting will clear out partial stuff that didn't completely load you may still want to clear event log (hold alt and press lglglg while still holding alt) to free up more if your BB thinks its getting too close to running out of memory it will delete call logs and texts so I clear mine once a week you won't lose anything also going to broswer then options and clear you cashe applications will free some up

Thanks! Best phone device I ever had! I don't think I'm going anywhere anytime soon.

Anyway, I haven't done the battary pull yet.I Will get to it soon.
