    Oh wise BB sages,
I beg thee to tell me. Is it possible to just turn BT on/off somehow from the keyboard or somehow quickly rather than having to travel through the icons and go into connections app and blah blah blah etc...

The 8100 does have a app that will turn off and on the Bluetooth without have to use the manage conncetion app. I am disappointed that this is not available on the curve, seems like a step back.

I assume there is no way to get the pearl application on the curve.

Re: is there a shortcut for bluetooth?

On my brothers Pearl, using the BB themes, there are two Bluetooth icon one has a little gear, which is for the BT settings, the other is just a BT icon, which switches the BT on and off.
It maybe a platform version, or carrier thing. He is on Rogers, but I am not sure of the software versions.

Croman, I assume you assigned the key to an app called "Bluetooth On", or does your convenience key open the connection manager?

    Custom icon/app for Bluetooth

It's been a while since this thread has been updated, but I can't believe there is not a 3rd party app to add a button to my home screen to simply toggle Bluetooth on/off. While we're at it, why not a button for wi-fi?

It take three friggin' buttons to turn Bluetooth on or off (the final button being ESC to clear the manage connection screen).

True, but how long can it really take? Roll to manage connections, check the box, back out. Its not like you have to go through settings and 3 or 4 levels to get there. Your best bet is to set a convenience key.

If there were a toggle button, I could put it in the top right corner and navigate to it without looking at my BB while driving, avoiding those pesky telephone poles.

As it stands, there is no reasonable way to toggle Bluetooth or Wifi without looking at the device.

It is not a time issue, and my best bet is to continue to beg so someone will come up with a simple app to do what used to be possible on other BB devices. I'd pay $3.99 for it. Any takers?
