There's more activity over here, so maybe there will be someone with some insight on my question.
I was wondering if IM can be done on the curve 8300? I have yahoo email and it says messaging isn't available with my device.
If you have AT&T then there is a workaround in the 3rd Party Applications forum for you. Since AT&T doesn't allow you to use the service.
Or you can just use another application that will allow you to use it. Just the RIM client isn't for AT&T users.
I have ATT and was astonished to hear this when I found out.
But red is right. I was using IM+ but you have to pay like $50 for that, so after researching much on that, I see that most ppl have Jivetalk from beejive.com I have been using that for several months now and am very happy. It's an all in one messenger
Providing customers with the latest in news and info along with experienced one on one tech support, training, product sales, exclusive themes and more.
ya but if you have at&t you can download (for free)their messenger program that works with Yahoo, Aim and Messenger
I use it all the time
I use a program called Web Messenger and I love it! It is an all in one and is free. It was recently posted on this site and I have used it ever since.
jivetalk is best it combines them all into one program and it uses data rather than counting towards your text messages
As A AT&T User Im Very Pissed Off Because Of The Simple Fact That I Have to Use A #rd Party Program Called"OZ" To Use AIM. OZ's AIM Is Not The Same As T-Mobile AIM Application. When You Are Using OZ, Recieving Messages Take A Long Time To Recieve. But The T-mobile AIM Apps is like The Regular AIM Off The AOL Website. To Put It In Simple Words, I WANT THE AIM THAT PROVIDED WITH T-MOBILE. I Have A At&T Blackberry Curve 8310. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT YOU CAN USE THE T-MOBILE AIM SERVICE BOOKS ON AT&T? OZ Is Not Worth It Ladies And Gentleman. Its Not. Stick To Texting. You Get Your Messages Faster This Way!
you are takling about OZ or whatever. if you get this, you must have a unlimited package cuz it charges as text messaging. try web messenger, its alright, not that great. JT is the best but f $50

Jive Talk is one of my most used apps! I love it! ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
I Really Recommend The EQO App,
I Doesnt Use Your Sms Texts But Instead
Uses Data, So If You Have The Unlimited
Data Plan, Than I Recommend EQO. Also
If Any Of Your Other Contacts Have EQO, Than
Messages To That Person Are Free, Now EQO
Is Supposed To Support Low Cost International Calls,
But I Have Not Tried That Yet, But When It Comes To Instant
Messaging, Its Great. It Supports MSN, AIM, Yahoo, Google Talk,
QQ, ICQ and Jabber.AND ITS FREE!!! Download At EQO.com

Go with JiveTalk. Best supported IM client I've seen. Pay the $30 for a regular license, so you can move it from phone to phone if needed. (You only need to replace your BB Once for this to pay for itself...)

I second that!
