    impossible to unlock 8310?

i bought my curve a month ago or so from ebay and its att branded not unlocked. I tried calling att (the same day i unlocked my pearl) and they said that there it came wit no code. so they i went online and i bought this unlocking thingy and they tried couple of times but no luck, it came wit no code found. They told me to get the blackberry code unlocking for 50$ (before i bought the att unlocking for att, got refounded) and said that this option will work. But who wants to spent 50$ on unlocking?? anyone knows a different way of unlocking the curve? like hacking or sumthing lol

It doesn't make any sense that it doesn't have an unlock code. I'd try calling AT&T again - maybe the next customer support person you get will be a bit more reasonable.

The first AT&T rep probably didnt know what he/she was talking about. They should have an unlock code for each phone.

If you were an AT&T customer in good standing they should give you the unlock code free just for asking.

But since you bought this phone off Fleabay don't be surprised if AT&T is less than helpful with the unlock code. There is little/no reason for them to help you unless you are an AT&T customer.

Sounds like you might have to pay the $50 for someone else to generate the unlock code for you.

Double check to make sure it has AT&T firmware. The only reason why they cannot unlock it, perhaps the pin is not registered on their network.

Call up AT&T and let them know that you want to use your Curve. Meaning that you will swap pins from the Pearl to the Curve. Have them register the IMEI and the PIN on their network

Once that is done, they can give you the unlock code for the Curve.
