i need to decide on 8310 or 8320

I currently have the 8310 with AT&T and I love this phone to death. Too bad I have to switch to t-mobile soon. So I was thinking of getting the 8320. I have a few questions though. How fast is the internet when using wifi compared to just the regular bb internet. And what's the difference with having an external gps to an internal. Besides the obvious. I always use the gps on my curve and I don't know if I wanna lose it. Its basically the only thing that is making me stay on AT&T.

I was also looking into the 88xx series that has both gps and wifi. Would that be better?

You know you can unlock the 8310 and use it on TMO right? If you've been with AT&T for a while you can ask for an unlock code for it.

I have an 8310 on TMO. I can't speak about the WiFi option, but the main reason for using the WiFi is for the UMA calling.

If you like your GPS just keep the 8310 and unlock it.

So no problems with the unlocked 8310 on TMO? Will I be able to use aim if I do
    that?

I'm pretty sure if you can find the service books for it and get the RIM client then you should be able to.

I haven't played with that for a while though. I think there was a thread about making them work in the third party apps forum though.

thanks guys. Maybe I'll still get the 8320 just so I can get it cheap with that rebate with a new activation. I heard bestbuy is having a sale.

I would recommend sticking with the 8310. GPS > Wifi, at least for me. Unless you're going to be in an area that gives YOU wifi access most of the time, what's the point?

And I'm running an 8310 on Tmo and it's absolutely fine. The only setting you'll have to change is the TCP setting. Enter in: wap.voicestream.com and leave the other 2 fields blank. Easy!

I was thinking that already. The only place I have constant wifi is @ home and @ school nd there are computers there.

What about the 88xx series? What's the major difference with that and the curve?

That's for sure! LOL! That thing is quicker than quick if it's got a wifi connection!

i just don't see the point in wifi on a phone...handy sure, but just not practical for me. I take my laptop on business trips and i honestly can't think of a time i said to myself "damn i wish my 8310 had wifi". Had wifi on my previous phone and never used it.....wifi just isn't a priority for me on my phone, but everyone is different it's all about what YOU need with YOUR phone.
