I am taking the 6GB microSD plunge!

    Hello Stackers!!

In anticipation of the glorious release of the new Blackberry 8320 from T-mobile, I've decided to make it my all in one device for email, GPS (with puck), wifi calling, and multimedia. I need more space for music and movies and the 6GB looks like it'll do the trick.

I'll post here the day that I get the 6GB into my BB 8320 to tell you if it's working and how well its working.

    Wish me luck!

I don't remember but does the curve support sdhc or just sd? You might want to verify the curve can support this card before you lay out the scratch.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i thought 4gig was the max for now. Did they allow more for the Curve's SD?

The Curve supports SDHC. I'm using a 4GB in mine w/o any problems.

I think sdhc is sdhc. So if 4GB is compatible than 6GB should be kosher. But do tell if it works or not because I'm waiting for either the 6GB or the 8GB myself. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I agree with nickjoedotcom. From everything I have read all cards should work as long as they are of the same formatting ilk. I am anxious to hear how this works out for you though. I am sure your feedback will be very valuable to all Curve users. Good luck!

I was told by a RIM rep at a convention I went to a couple of weeks ago that the 8830 and the 8300 series when it comes out on Verizon will take up to a 32 GB card, once they are available that is.

Nice! Once Christmas rolls around the 8 gb cards should be out and the iPhone will have nothing on us!

Question Re: I am taking the 6GB microSD plunge!

OK, so I got my 6gb from Amazon yesterday. Installed it and the BLackberry was seeing all of the memory.
Then for some reason I will never be able to explain I decided I should format it.
    Big mistake. \
Afterwards my 8300 was only reporting 1.68gb.
SO I find an SDHC formatter online and I get my card back up to the full capacity.
Put the chip back into the camera and I am able to save pictures to it with no problem.
But when I connect to my laptop and go into My Computer the BB memory card is reporting as 0mb.
And Media Manager is not able to see the card either.
But if I pull the card and use the SDHC adapater that is supplied with it everything works wonderfully.
So it seems as though something isn't quite right with this.
Are you folks with 4gb cards able to see them through Media Manager in Blackberry Desktop Manager?
