You mention you have 6 new 8330s all with this issue. Who set up your email on your device? Do you know if the blackberry email service is set up on a company server or on Alltels web site?

We do not have a server dedicated for Blackberry - we installed the software that came with the phone on each person's individual computer - Our email system is Outlook through an Exchange Server for 5 of the phones and Outlook through a remote mail server on 1 of the phones.

Blackberry redirector is working on all systems and we receive the email with the attachment on the phone - just never get an option in the menus' to open the attachments.

Is there a reason you are using redirector instead of the BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) through AllTell? That is your issue. According to RIM Redirector does not support attachments. See Below:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If BlackBerry Desktop Manager has been configured to use BlackBerry Desktop Redirector, the BlackBerry device user will not be able to view attachments. BlackBerry Desktop Redirector is not designed to allow attachment viewing.
    Resolution
    1. Uninstall BlackBerry Desktop Manager. For instructions, see KB02206.
    2. Reinstall BlackBerry Desktop Manager, selecting the BlackBerry Internet Service or the BlackBerry Enterprise Server option.
    3. Delete the Desktop[CMIME] and Desktop[CICAL] from the BlackBerry device's service books.

How do I set up the BIS through AllTell? I will try this and see if it changes anything.

I beleive this will solve your issue....
    Start here:

    http://www.alltel.blackberry.com/

It is pretty easy and self explanatory. Afterwards you need to run "change" on desktop manager from the computers control panel..add remove programs...and change the setting to Blackberry Internet Service. Then delete the service books mentioned above (go to Options- Advanced - Service Books)

I am having the same problem, but with WAV files. I can see the attachment on the email, but no options to view it. Strange - no paper clip shows up in the inbox, but when i open the message I see the attachment. any ideas?

Its my understanding that you need to be on BES *or* have the latest version of BIS in order to have attachments.

You should be able to scroll down to the attachment and then when you click on it, it will open the attachment.

I get an e-mail with a .wav attachment every time I get a voicemail message through my Vonage phone service. I am able to open the .wav file and listen to the message on my 8310.
