    ID: (a series of numbers)
    Phone Number:
    (my actual number)

None of these lines: ID, Phone Number, and the one that shows my phone number doesn't say anything else.

Based on that information, is my phone correctly unlocked?

    Thanks,
You didn't recieve any errors, the phone said code excepted. It is unlocked.. No Worries

    Tide,

Did you enter MEPD? Does it say Network Disabled or Active?

The only thing it says on that screen is:Security Disabled.
No mention of network at all.

I guess I got lucky with AT&T. I called them to get the unlock code and they took my information and said their system was down, but that they would call me back. I figured I was getting the old run around, but a few hours later they called back and gave me the unlock code.

For reference....in order to determine if your 83XX is unlocked take these steps...

    Options
    Advanced
    Sim Card
    Enter "MEPD"

If your device is unlocked all fields should be marked Disabled. If your Network indicates "Active" then your device is still locked.

Do I have an invalid unlock code?

I received my unlock code this morning and followed the directions. However, it keeps rejecting it. I have 7 tries left. I have asked AT&T to verify that they gave me the correct code for my IMEI. I have also verified that I sent them the correct IMEI. I even sent it again.

BTW, the code I got for my BB curve 8310 was 12 digits. I think I read somewhere that it's usually 16 digits or so.

Here are the instructions they sent. No problem with it, it's just that I kept code error on the 3 times I tried. Not sure if it matters, but at step 8, I used the enter key, the 3rd try I pressed the jog dial once. Still no go. Me thinks that I received an incorrect code.

    ------------------------------------------
Here are the instructions on how to
    unlock the Blackberry 8310:
    1. Insert AT&T SIM card
    2. Power phone on and Turn off the radio (Turn Wireless Off option).
    Very Important.

    3. Select "Options" then select Advanced Options
    4. Scroll down and select Sim Card.

    5. Hold down the ALT key and type "MEPD".
This does not display on the screen.

    6. Hold down the ALT key and type "MEP2".
This does not display on the screen.

    7. Enter the Unlock Code.

    8. Press Enter.

    9. Reboot Device. Device is now Unlocked

The instructions seem correct, although I never turned off the radio on either the 8310 or my 8900. Can't remember how many digits either code was. Got one during free promotion and paid for other.

Thought I'd post an update. As suspected, AT&T acknowledged that I was given the wrong code, and apologized for their mistake. The sent the right code yesterday afternoon, and it was 16 digits. My curve is now unlocked.
