If you have a device that uses a SIM card you can save your contacts on it. As far as I am aware you can not save contacts to your SD card yet. Hopefully RIM will address this soon. It would be an awesome feature.

If you let us know what you're trying to do we could give you some alternative solutions.

As far as I know you cannot transfer them to your Media card.

Yeah, if you want to transfer them to the SIM card you have to do it one at a time

What you have to do is:

    1 Go to the contact
    2 Open the contact
3 Scroll down to the Number
    4 Hit Menu
5 Scroll up to Copy to SIM Phone Book

If you're trying to copy them to a new phone, why don't you just sync them to outlook and transfer?

Or you can even do it wirelessly if you use google sync... But that's assuming your google contacts are organized

I remember copying all of my contacts on my 8100 onto my sim card all at once, but don't remember how. I guess you can't copy all at once with the 8900.

If you have a yahoo account you can use yahoo go , there is a sync feature and you can up load the info and down load it to another device . it works across platforms too. so if your going from a dumb phone to say a berry you can use go . and its backed up on your yahoo so you can access then from a pc and when you need the info . you can add or delete contacts tasks todos and calender too, i think it may do it automatically every time you activate the application as well. it saves a lot of time and having to repeatedly add or delete contacts to multiple address books
hope this helps with your transfer

My google contacts are a mess...

In my opinion, there's two best ways to save contacts... One, I have synced them to outlook... And two, I did a backup of just the addressbook database...

So far that's worked pretty good with me...
