Well as far as I know you can't just add wifi to your phone. As far as checking model I'm not sure how to do that but I'm sure you can. Can't you qsk the guy what model the phone is? If it has wifi its an 8320 and if it doesn't its probably an 8300 or 8310.... I tried to help I guess lol ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

    ballr's right.
As for "converting" your BB. the 8300, 8310 and 8320 are the same device, except for GPS in the 8310, and WiFi in the 8320. These are hardware differences, which can't be changed.

Do you know the person u bought it from? Was it from ebay? These phones aren't cheap, if u got it for little cash that would be very odd for a blackberry.

to see the Model and OS version, options>about
to see the PIN and IMEI options>status

if it says 8320, it probably is. But, maybe it had the case changed or something like that,

If you don't mind, how much did you pay for it?

    and maybe post some pics?

no sticker?!?!! i would be very cautious about that! i would call the carrier that it is branded to and ask if that have the IMEM# on their block list. if it does not have a carrier label then just dial 611 and send and see who answers. if it were me i would throw it back to the guy you bought it from and get your money back. it doesn't sound like a legitimate phone to me....
