Log in to the your BlackBerry Internet Service provider account. (t-
    mobile,at&t,Verizon, alltell,sprint)
Click filters beside the integrated Gmail account.
    Click add filter.
    Name the filter.
Click the drop-down menu beside apply filter when: and select the from
    field.
In the contains field, type the Gmail email account.
Select do not forward messages to handheld.
    Click add filter.

You could also remove your email address from the auto-bcc field, but your better off with the method above so you will have your BB-sent gmail items on the gmail server.

I also set up a filter in my gmail account to automatically archive and mark as read any emails originating from my own address.

This may be a stupid question, but how do you log into the BIS? I'm having the same issue as ct5694. Do you mean go to the email setup icon? or is there a different page to go to? I'm with ATT.

I'm VERY new to blackberry so I may just be misunderstanding the question...

I was looking at my blackberry and saw that there is a menu option (Menu-Options-General Options) labelled "Hide Sent Messages." I set this to "Yes" and none of my sent messages are displayed.

Does this cost anything to set up an account?

No. It's the same account as your BB e-mail address.

Example: myname@carrier.blackberry.net -- your account would be "myname".

Usually, your service provider gives you a link to their version. I know mine through at&t is myname@att.blackberry.net

    Good luck!
    As always, just my opinion...

Ok thanks. ATT did not give me any info about this. I currently don't have a blackberry email address as I just use my work one for everything. Do I need to call ATT or should I just click the link and set everything up myself?

You can set it up yourself. It will ask you for your PIN and your IMEI I think...

At any rate, once you set it up, you'll get the joys of instant push e-mail -- none of this poll every 10-15 minutes stuff!

    Enjoy!
