How Do I Delete An Old E-Mail Account On The Phone???

    Hi all,

Long time lurker here. I have a question:

How do I delete an old e-mail account from my phone?

I already deleted it on the Sprint BIS site. It no longer exists there. It is also gone from my service books on my phone.

However, it still exists in any/all of the dropdown boxes when you are given a choice of which e-mail address/account you want to use in the CALENDAR (the "send using" option) and it's also still a choice when I choose what calendar I want to use.

Here is what I have done to try to delete the old e-mail account:

    1. Reset/Battery Pull
    2. Re-Send Service Books From My Computer
    3. Did A Memory Cleaning From Options/Security

Also, when I did a Sync with my desktop, I went into Backup/Restore/Advanced and tried to delete it and the calendar events associated with that e-mail account, but it still didn't delete the old account.

Any help would be truly appreciated.

    Thanks!!!!!

Options>Advanced Options>Service Book. Scroll down and find the e-mail address you wish deleted, highlight and delete.

Until you remove the service books (by the process listed above) the folder and options for that email account will remain. the BIS site can send new service books, and overwrite old ones, but will not delete removed accounts.

It's not there under service books on my phone. That's why this is so frustrating!!!!

Here is an alternative....albeit a little more drastic it should take care of the problem.

    Back up with Desktop Manager...
Wipe the data on the device using:
    OPTIONS-SECURITY - GENERAL - MENU - Wipe Handheld
Resend your service books, register your Host Routing Tablem, and restore your data.

WARNING - This will not restore any messages on the device, they will be gone.
Will ALL messages be gone? Even the ones from the ACTIVE email accounts? Ugh

I have never heard or "registering your Host Routing Table"....in a nutshell, what does that mean and why don't you have to do that every time you re-send service books and/or create a new email address from your BIS website (via PC)?

    Thanks VERY much!!!!

HRT - not allways necessary, I suggest it from habit. Options - Advanced - Host Routing Table - MENU - Register Now.

EDIT--- I just checked a recent back up and it appears that messages are included...sorry for the bad info.
