I did not paint the back. I just bought the black seidio one because it matches. It's not OEM but it's not cheap feeling or anything. (The only thing I could do without is the seidio letters on the back)

The only thing I painted was the midpiece. I couldn't find a red one, only a silver one (didn't want to use the stock one in case of a warranty exchange) and I wet sanded it with 1000 grit until it was black. The paint has not chipped at all, it is auto paint so don't know if it will but so far so good It seems pretty sturdy but if anything changes I'll be sure to post. I wanted to clear coat it but it is already shiny and matches.

Re: How to change your T-Mobile curve to a red curve

Your red paint job looks great. When I read the instructions I thought it was a great idea so I decided to try it out on my old Motorola V600 since I had extra faceplates. I figured if I screwed it up it wouldn't matter since the phone is retired and the extra face plate doesn't matter anymore.

I used 1000 grit paper just like you suggested then using the same paint that you did (different color) I tried painting on the inside just to test it out. After letting it dry I noticed that you can see every brush stroke not to mention tiny air bubbles. Did you use a different brush than the one provided with the paint? I also have no clue how you can paint 100% of it without getting finger prints anywhere. I guess my problem more procedure rather than the paint itself.

Can you offer any advice on the actual painting process? Im going to sand out the test paint job and try again and see if I get better results.

Thanks for sharing the details and pics BTW

Lavagirl I appreciate the link you provided, it was very helpful... it doesn't cover painting your phone with car paint and a brush. Spray paint is always fun but using the car touch up paint method is great because I can make my phone the same exact color as my car. Anyway thanks again for the link.

That looks absolutely awesome. Too bad there isn't a store you can just walk into and have that done. Great job! ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
