This is only possible on the 8100 as it has four different colored LEDs beneath the trackball. Every other trackball Berry only has one white LED.

I agree....only available for the 8100... the only thing that you can do with the 8800 series and curves is you can actually change the color of the LED on the upper right corner. "status LED" it is a pretty cool App. I purchased it from handango...

I also purchased that app for my 8100. It's called Blackberry Alerts. Nice little app

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ what I did with my Curve is remove the trackball assembly and place a small piece of colored tape over the LED, thus giving my trackball a suttle look. I have had my Curve this way since I got it 3-4 months ago with no problems what so ever! The tape doesn't stick to the LED, or burn

You can't get Blackberry Alerts for free. It can be purchased from Handango, and it's not expensive. It's worth the price IMO.

You can't change the trackball color but with the same program you'll be able to get different colored led's.

I bought BB Alerts yesterday and it's already my favorite program. Between xColorEvents and BB Alerts, my pearl lights up like an xmas tree. Well worth the 13 dollars.
