Question help saving excel or word docs on 8330

Former treo owner and impressed with 8330, but need to know how to save word docs or excel docs, which contain lists of information for me that are handy to carry with me and store in my device. how can this be done, if possible. Really do not want to keep it as an attchment to an email because those drop off in time. I tried pasting into the blackberry file for the media files on my desktop and syncing it, but the dicuments were not recognized

    thanks for any help,

you should be able to just "save" through the menu.

when you get set attachment, hit menu and view attachment.
hit menu again when it loads and you should be able to "save"

I have not gotten those kinds of attachment's in a while so I can't remember if that will work correctly or not but I think it should do the job.

Try drag and dropping the files into your memory card under Other Files. You won't see the files on the device unless you highlight Media, click the menu button, and select "Explore."

This way the files will be stored on the device, you just won't be able to edit or view them. You will be able to treat the device as a flach drive to install that will let you transfer to another computer

    Tom,

You must have either OS 4.5 (currently a beta) or have purchased the software if you want to edit these files from the 8330 and save them. The ability to edit and save them does not come as a standard feature on the stock 8330 operating system.

    I hope this helps!

    Kris

What I and the original poster need (we're both ex-Palm) is a good document viewer that handles .doc/.xls files. Unfortunately Docs to Go, which does a great job on the Palm, only runs under OS v4.5 (according to Dataviz website) and I'm stuck with Verizon's 4.3. Anyone know a good viewer that runs under 4.3?

E-office has now gone down to $29.00 bucks, before it was $109.00. Thanks Dataviz!
