    blondee,

You'll need a 4.5 OS on your device in order to get the video recording capabilities.

I upgraded last night, nightmare from hell. I was on the phone for 3 hours, then they had to connect me to Rim, seems like one of the files had to be removed, some vendor x something. Finally, its done . Maybe today I will get to play with the phone.

Sorry you had issues. If you are installing an OS from another carrier you must delete the vendor.xml file before it will load on your device. Actually I am surprised that RIM supported that...Have fun with your new phone and all the new 4.5 goodies!

Why did your phone not have the latest OS on it? Did you buy it new? Doesn't make sense...I just got one yesterday and it definitely records videos fine.

The phone Blondee got was probably from an older lot which would explain why it didn't have a newer OS. Yours on the other hand may have just come in before you received it.

    Blondee,

Sorry you had such an ordeal updating your device! You would've gotten a lot more help a lot faster had you come to PinStack first! One of the steps in the link I posted with instructions is to delete the vendor.xml file, which sounds like was the root of your problem. Next time read the instructions!

Hopefully you're up and running now with no issues!

    Regards,
    Roger
