    Help frozen BB

I am very new to all of this and I think I know just enough to be dangerous. An employee of mine with a 8330 4.3 had her bb freeze up or something. The keyboard does not work at all can't answer calls or msgs. She hastried unlocking it with * send and pulled the battery a few times to no avail. I need to be able to get ahold of her. Any ideas?

Is this person getting a blank screen or is their screen still showing up as normal and nothing seems to function? You mentioned that she tried unlocking the phone, is the phone currently locked?

The screen is visable. Calls, sms, bb msng are seen and heard but she can't answer them. The trackball and curser moves but she cannot click anything. The keyboard and phone are not locked or in standby.

Did she get it wet? Can she use the enter key instead of pressing the trackball?

No she did not get it wet. There is no response to any keyboard use or any other key. Nothing pressed responds

Tell her to take out the battery and leave it out for a couple hours and put it back in.

My BB froze once and what I suggested above worked.

I suggest you may want to try updating the OS (see links HERE)

Perhaps this is software related, and the 4.3 OS is outdated anyway.

I had this happen to me on the 23rd of this month. No buttons were registering but scrolling of the track ball was working. I was still receiving calls and messages but could not answer them. I pulled the battery a couple of times then I started getting a message about my memory card being corrupt. I took out the memory card and reinstalled the battery. Buttons still would not work after that so I removed the battery for a couple of hours and presto everything worked again. I reinstalled the memory card and still got a message about my memory card being corrupt, I copied all the files from my memory card to my computer desktop and reformatted the card then installed the files. Everything works great again. The problem may lay with fragmentation of the memory card maybe? Who knows.

Good point, a corrupt memory card will cause a BB to do strange things.
