    I believe I was using 4.5.

    I can't even get to this screen because it does not power up. It only cycles in a continuous reboot. Red light then white screen with hour glass then black then all over again

    Have you used jl_cmndr before? If you wipe your device, the rebooting will stop, then you'll be able to reload the OS.

    I've tried the JLcmdnr but it won't read the BB plugged in directly to the PC. The desktop software can read the BB, but JL can't.

    I'm using 4.6 desktop, does that make a difference.

    I have tried those steps in the link you attached on my laptop and my desktop about 5 times each with no luck

    yes, the red light goes on and then I get the white screen with a battery and a red slash going through the battery
