    Question Help

    Hi

i recently got the 8310 curve and dropped it in water it must have been under for about a full minute. after taking it out the water, the phone was dead. i done what i did not know i should NOT do at the time....i dried it and switched the phone on...

it went on then off again, i left it a while and switched it on again. i done this a few times.

currently the problem with the phone is that it switches on and stays on the home screen, as soon as i move the trackball it switches off and on again then off and stays off untill i try again after leaving it off for about 30 sec. Some of the buttons still work.

any solutions or should i jsut forget about it and get a new one

    Sorry to hear this.
The first rule for a water damaged BB is NO POWER until completely dry. When did this all happen? About all you can do is remove the battery and stick it in a bowl of uncooked rice for a couple of days and see if you can get it working again. Your warranty will not cover this and believe me they will know.

Yeah, sticking it in a tub of uncooked rice for a day should do the trick. If that doesn't, you could always try taking apart your bb and then letting the various pieces air dry. Hopefully you do have insurance. If letting it air dry doesn't work, you may have to replace the boards on the inside. FYI, don't turn on your bb if and ever, it is dropped in a liquid of some sort. Always make sure it's dried before powering it on. I do hope you have insurance on your phone. In the meantime, I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.
