    Heads Up for all TMO Curve owners

    On TMO's web site they have listed Software version v4.2.2.171 every device I have loaded in the last week with the software off the site has reported it as an upgrade to the software, even though the number matches the version currently on the Curve. There is some benifit for those using the Hotspot @ home. making the UMA more stable.

    So you're saying that even if you already have 4.2.2.171, loading it again might help?

    Yes Sir, every Curve I have loaded in the last week has stated this is an update even thoguh the numbers are the same, And anyway, when a device comes form the manufacuter, they tend to load 100 at a time or more. They go to QC and then to the end user, so a standalone reload of software even if it is the same is often better then what that factory did.

    This resolved my issue I was having with Opera Mini not installing. It originally was saying it failed to connect to the network, but after the refresh it loaded right up.

    When I first received my curve I just went ahead and loaded that OS even though it was the same one that was on my curve. I never ended up having a problem with my UMA like others did!

    I am curious to here more replies to this thread. I find it funny that it actually made improvements. I also wanted to go on air and say i love my tmobile 8320. I had no problems and that just made the purchase more enjoyable.......

    I was very nervous about doing this because I had problems with losing the browser when I upgraded the software on my Pearl, but I was not able to load applications through the DM, so I went ahead and did it. I worked like a charm. I did not lose anything and now I am able to load applications with no problems.

    For UMA issues also see UMA Warning for TMO Curve users , as for the Broswer loss, runing Host Routing Table after the reinstall will fix that as long as you are on EDGE,
    Options>Advanced Options>Host routing table> Hightlight the one in bold, click menu, select register now.

    Connect the device to the computer and open the desktop manager, when it says connected at the top select back up and restore, backup, and select where you want the file stored then hit save. Welcome to the Stacks, post back with any questions.
