~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ mine has. For a bit of time too. I don't know if it was fully frozen or if it would have started responding I get too impatient and pull the battery. Usually works well

Very, very rarely. Nothing that a battery pull doesn't fix, however.

i do alot of driving, and use my 8310 as my nav. and i realized that whenever i use the NAV. while having the music playing, my voice dial does not work. and every so often the music will start skipping then the phone will reset. my guess is if your phone is freezing up on you, you may have to may operations running in the background, and needs more ram/vespian gas...
if an os is no longer beta and is an official release, freezing is usually non os related. it wouldn't have been released if it did, (not counting windows)...

Full freeze? Maybe once since I got it, but I really don't remember it.

I get the hourglass frequently but it only bugs me if it doesn't stop and I have to reboot.

I know that it has happened a few times. Nothing major and for sure not that often. Thankfully.

Re: Has your BB ever froze up on you?

To put this into perspective, I will cite the following:

    1) Prior to purchasing my first BB, I used a variety of "other" devices for a quite a period of time.
I have used a few Palm Treos, A few Symbian powered Nokias, and a couple of Windows Mobile powered devices, the most well know of which was the Motorola Q. All of these did indeed freeze completely on a somewhat regular basis due to various issues.

    2) 19 months ago, I moved to using BlackBerry's. I have used several models in an effort to find "just the perfect one for me" even though they were all extremely stable, reliable, fast and with great battery life.

So all things being relative, I would rate the BB as far and away the best device when it comes to smart phones. I have yet to have one freeze up on me...period. What I have experienced are some slowdowns from time to time prior to learning proper usage and maintenance of the BlackBerry platform. Now that I have quite a bit of knowledge via self study, reading the resource materials here on PinStacks, and through the generous help of members here when I was new, I now enjoy terrific speed, stability and reliability.

I also enjoy giving back to this community by participating in the forums and helping others that are new to the BlackBerry platform.

I cannot imagine moving away from BlackBerry platform for quite some time. As always with all things tech, there are new products, new developments and improvements to existing products, and a variety of other unforeseen developments. However looking back on the BB history and success, I would be highly suprized if anything better was released anytime soon.
