No OTA app will add GPS capabilitites to your BB. You would need to purchase a GPS puck that can connect via BT with your BB then you could begin to use GPS apps.

I know some of the apps for the built in GPS like telenav have voice directions. I'm not sure about apps that would connect to an external GPS source like yours would require. There may be some with voice directions I'm just not familiar with the names...

You will need an app that uses cell towers and wifi hotspots to triangulate your location. Since this is not a gps and your location is not pinpointed, you won't have talking directions.

GPS is hardware so no software can fix that for you.

As was said, if you get an external GPS device, I believe most apps should work with it because the BlackBerry acts as the middle man but I'm not sure.

JeffreyC, I had an 8320 before I upgraded to the 8900 (whoo hoo!). I got a Freedom GPS (keychain bluetooth gps) and I downloaded Amaze GPS which was is free and gives turn-by-turn voice directions. Its the only navigation software I use when going somewhere I've never been to and I rely on the gps. The 8900 has gps built-in so no additional cost for this now for me. Directions are accurate as long as you input the correct address. I recommend giving it a try. Hope this info helps.

the 8310 and the 8330 have GPS, the 8320 has wifi only... on the blackberry it shows the specs for 83xx and then has a little * stating that not all devices have it built in...
