    Hi guys,

    1) Can you get gps from verizon for free or do you have to pay extra for your bb?

    2) Is there a way I can download the driving directions from google on my bb?

    Thanks all.

You can get driving directions on your Verizon 8830 in two main ways.

GPS: VZ Navigator, you pay a monthly fee for this service. You will need to get an OTA download and this will work much more like the standard GPS units that people are familiar with.

Cell tower location: You can use Google Maps to get directions from point to point. You will need to entere the addresses where you want to go fully, there are not the quick fill-ins like there are on Garmin uits. Also, the directions do not update as you go, you will neet to look at a turn by turn list or manually advance the directions on the map.

    I hope this helps somewhat.

yea but hopefully the class action suit against verizon's "malicious" disabling of the oem gps will be overturned in federal court and then you wont have to pay to enable it
